The geography of Helambu provides excellent camps to camp overnight or for several days. The most popular is Ama Yangri overnight camping. Visitors set up camping tents at 3771m atop Ama Yangri peak, especially during spring when the rhododendrons bloom.

One can enjoy an uninterrupted 360 view of the majestic Langtang range, Ganesh Himal and even the Himalayas. The golden sunrise and sunset experienced from atop Ama Yangri is an exhilarating experience.

Almost every village along the Helambu trekking circuit has picturesque places to camp overnight. Tharepati, Melamchighyang, Ama Yangri, and Chyomuthang are popular trekking destinations.
